BITUPATCH is manufactured in conventional continuous or batch plants.
Storage and Packaging
Depending on the formulation of the binders used, BITUPATCH’S storage capacity ranges from several weeks in normal conditions up to several months if special care is taken(covering,etc). It is
packed into 25kg plastic bags or buckets.
Uses
Properties
BITUPATCH has improved stability, durability and performance compared to conventional open-graded
storable cold mixes commonly used in maintenance and small scale paving projects.
Directions for Use
1. Cut the pothole to a regular shape.
2. Clean the substrate systematically to eliminate debris, dust, grease and water
3. A tack coat (k 1-60) is then spread on the substrate using watering can and soft broom
This is allowed to set between 20-30 minutes.
4. Open the bag and pour BITUPATCH cold mix asphalt into the cavity up to thickness of 4cm.
Level and smooth the BITUPATCH in the cavity, making allowance for natural reduction due to compaction .Ensure the edges are allocated a larger quantity.
5. Compact carefully using a hand tamper, vibrating plate or 1 ton pedestrian roller depending on the surface area.
6. Open to traffic immediately after compaction.
